Picking up Apples

We have an apple tree in our front yard that produces alot of apples. Not ones really edible for human consumption but the deer around here love them. What I dislike about them the most is that they fall in the yard and make it look horrible, so last week when some friends were over playing I coaxed the kids into filling a whole garbage bag full. It only took the group (7 kids and 2 adults) about 4 minutes to fill the bag. I really appreciated the help! After the big kids were done filling the bag Finn and his friend Clark wanted to continue to pick up apples and throw them in the garbage, even when it started to pour down rain (yes, I said rain, August in Washington and it's raining....... AHHHHHHHH!)

They had a blast, who'd a thunk it? They were so cute!!

A Rock and A Hard Place

I know what your thinking "Hurricane in Seattle?"................... No we're not boarding up for a big storm, the little rumbling storm has already passed. We knew it would happen eventually a 7 1/2 ft by 5 1/2 foot window and 3 little kids. I'm actually amazed it lasted this long. And no one was hurt, that's the most important thing!

We have window guys coming out today to give us estimates. Oh what a day this will be!

My New Hair Do

For the last few years I have loved the A-line hair cut and I have had it off and on but just recently I have felt like I am reaching the age of needing bangs again, so I went last night and got this cut. Please excuse the bad pictures I took a couple and Sully took the other for me. I love it! What's your favorite hair do?

1980 Trans Am

This is the car I drove in High School. 1980 Trans Am with a 301 Turbo, t-tops, with a hefty side of bad a**! Great memories. My car looked exactly like this one. It even had the flaming chicken on the hood. Ahhhh good times.

More of the Market

My husband gave me a great compliment recently on the pictures I've been taking so I thought I'd share some more. These were from last week at Pike Street.

Seattle Can Be Beautiful

On Wednesday we had the opportunity to go down to Pike Street Market Place with my family and my niece Natalie from Texas. It started out kind of a crummy day but by the time we got down there it warmed up. Seattle really can be a beautiful place when the sun shines. Here are a few things we enjoyed looking at.

My New Crush

I watched this fun teenage fighting movie last night (by myself I might add) and this young man Sean Faris was the lead and WOW! I just had to share a little eye candy. Have you ever seen him in another movie you think I should see?

Ward Camp Out 08'

Friday evening we packed up the car and headed up to our annual Ward Camp Out. We bought a tent a few years ago and we've used it about twice a year on average so far. We had a really fun time. We had tin foil dinners and hot dogs for dinner and then a never endless supply of smore fixins til the kids went to bed at 11:30pm. The kids got to run about like wild creatures, which they always love, and we got to stay up til 2am talking around the camp fire with friends. We got up to a delicious pancake breakfast cooked my some of the men in the ward which always makes it better I think, and then we broke camp. Surprisingly our tent is quite easy to put up and take down. Before we left we had to let the kids try the zip line they put up a year or so ago. They loved it, they are still talking about it.

All in all the camping trip was successful. We all needed naps and early bedtime Saturday but it was all worth it. We are very excited to go again soon in the next month before summer comes to an end up here!

Happy Doo Dah!

Today Finnigan turned 2! I can't believe how time has just flown by. He is one of the coolest little kids you could ever know. He is sweet and funny and loving and just such a joy to our home.

We took him to Toys R Us last night to figure out what to get a kid who has 2 older syblings who have everything which in turn means he has everything and we had no luck. We showed him toys, and balls and bats and bikes but all he cared about was the skateboards. So after talking to the Grandparents and some of the Aunts and Uncles today Eric and Sully went to a skate shop in the mall and had them build Finn a custom mini board. We gave it to him tonight at his birthday party at the park and as you can see he loves it. He skated almost the whole time, had to hold it in the car and even had me tuck it into bed next to him tonight.

Happy Birthday Doo Dah, we love you!

Minus 1

So I never thought only having 2 kids at home would feel lonely........ but it does! Amara left on Thursday night to go spend a whole week by herself with her Grandparents in Oregon. She couldn't be happier, I talked to her today and she acted like "Seriously why are you calling me?" not " I miss you Mom, I'm so glad you called." I guess I'm glad she's not home sick and crying but sheesh throw your mom a bone. Finn keeps looking around at random times and saying "Sissy go?" She is definately missed!

New Baby Cousin

We have been waiting patiently for months for our new baby cousin to arrive. Well he finally made his grand entrance late on June 10th. His name is Clark Ryan, he was 6lbs 7 oz and 20 inches. We went yesterday to meet him for the first time. The kids are so excited to have a cousin in the area. Congratulations Jeni and Kev!
