Being more like Yoda

For Eric's birthday last Friday the kids decided to get him the first 3 Star Wars movies ( the old ones), ever since then it has been a non-stop Star Wars fest! Today Finn and I were chillin on my bed and watching Return of the Jedi, he asked me when Yoda was going to turn bad? I told him Yoda never turns bad, he's always a good guy. He was puzzled, why doesn't Yoda turn bad he wanted to know. I told him because he always wants to choose the right and be on the good side like me. He looked at me and said " You are on the bad side mom", I was shocked! What? Why?, I asked. Because you spank me sometimes, that is not the good side". I giggled but he was totally serious! I said, ok you try to make good choices like listening, obeying and being kind and I will try not to spank you . We can both be more like Yoda. Ok, he said with a smile.

I guess we could all use to be a little more like Yoda!

That's really cute. I read Adam a story in the friend about an older sister that was asked to help her younger sister pick up her toys. The younger sister could easily pick them up, but she always tried to get out of it by saying she was "too little." This made the older sister upset and the story is about praying to have a kind heart and eventually doing what is right. Her younger sister also realized that she was not too little to help. That night, I asked Adam to pick up his toys and he told me that he was, "too little." Okay, that was NOT the take away I was hoping for!
