You Say It's Your Birthday

Today is Eric's 31st Birthday! Happy Birthday!!!! He has had a weekend of birthday celebration. Friday night Sam and Tonya came up and took us out to his favorite Thai restaraunt Pen Thai. Saturday morning was spent playing video games on Tonya and Sam's Nintento DS lite's after a big breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes, sausage, and hashbrowns. Eric loves chocolate chip pancakes! Saturday night, while the kids and I went birthday shopping, 3 of his best guys friends up here took him out for burgers, hot wings and bowling. They had a ball! Bowling almost did him in, he's had to take ibuprofen for the last few days for his muscle aches. Sunday he was awoken by 2 very excited gift givers ( Amara and Sully ) with gifts hand picked by them. You know you're a great dad when the gifts your given are really for your kids and you couldn't be happier.

Sunday was spent at church and then we had friends over for BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, homemade coleslaw, fries and yummy dessert. All in all it was a great birtday weekend! Today for his actual birthday he slept in, went to work and will come home later to have dinner and a movie with me and the kids. I asked if there was anything he'd rather do and he said he just wants to be with us. And people wonder why I love him.

So here is to the man I love, my best friend, the greatest dad ever! We love you with all our hearts and can't wait to spend many more birthdays with you!

I sorely miss Pen Thai. I didn't even really get to enjoy it the last time I ate there because I was in the first months of pregnancy. We ordered the crispy chicken, and I took one bite and spent the rest of the evening in the car, willing myself not to puke, waiting for Erik to scarf down the rest before taking me home!

We miss Seattle food! Actually, there's lots that we miss about Seattle. We were so ready to move on when we left for Michigan, that I didn't think I would look back and miss much. But I certainly do, most of all, great friends. I love seeing your kids. Finn is one darn cute kid!

Happy birthday Eric! Your birthday hot wings left a lingering effect on Paul. He couldn't stop telling me aboout the "burning". Hope your experience wasn't as chatastophic. I really like your blog!

Happy "belated" birthday, Eric. What a mighty sweet (and very cute) way to spend your birthday. May you have many, many more!
