Please Forgive Me

I owe all of you "Through the Gray" fans an apology. Sorry it's been so long since a post. In the last few weeks we've had visitors from Oregon ( Grandma and Grandpa Moo ), a trip in an ambulance for Eric ( long story, but he's ok now ), a new tooth for Finn, a stomach bug and a night of vomiting for Sully, the loss of a tooth for Amara and one tired Mom! That sums up the last few weeks for us, so really how mad at me can you be.

Here are a few new pictures just for fun!

Happy Spring

Happy 1st day of Spring! This is actually something we did a few weeks ago when we had a day that was almost 70 degrees. Our actual 1st day of spring will be gray and rainy but that's to be expected, we live in Seattle.

Blue Thunder

A conversation at Thursday's art night about old TV shows we watch when we were kids prompted me to go to where else, YouTube. I love YouTube.

The two shows we spent the most time talking about were Air Wolf and Blue Thunder. I watched them both, although I was partial to Blue Thunder. After watching these two intros I can't believe it. Dana Carvey! Dick Butkis! Bubba Smith!?! RADICAL.

My Little Fishes

For the last few weeks I've taken the kids to a local indoor pool 15 minutes or so away from our house. It hasn't been the easiest task, with only one working car in the house we've had to run Eric into work and then go back and pick him up and switch cars with a friend, but it's been worth every hassle!

Just Amara and Sully went in last week because Finn had a nasty cold. They both played nonstop for and hour and a half. The pure joy they get from being in the water makes me so happy! Neither one of them have any fear. They'll try anything and are always so excited to show me all the new tricks they've created.

This week was Finn's first time in a pool. I wasn't sure if he would like it or not. Someday's bath time is the funnest part of his day and sometimes it's torture! He loved it! He was all smiles the whole time. He layed back, kicked his feet, played with toys and splashed. He was in heaven.

These are the times I feel like a good mom. I love these kids so much! It's so fun to have fun with them! Aren't they the cutest fishes you've ever seen?

JD

Several of my friends get together every Thursday night for "art night". We chat, we draw, we chat, we chat, we draw, it's good clean fun. A great bunch of friends and artists. I used the time to work on my character concepts a bit more.

Evolving Badness

Here is another concept sketch for my bad guy. He is evolving pretty quickly now. I hope to do a couple finished inks to hang up near my work space to help inspire some ideas.

You Say It's Your Birthday

Today is Eric's 31st Birthday! Happy Birthday!!!! He has had a weekend of birthday celebration. Friday night Sam and Tonya came up and took us out to his favorite Thai restaraunt Pen Thai. Saturday morning was spent playing video games on Tonya and Sam's Nintento DS lite's after a big breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes, sausage, and hashbrowns. Eric loves chocolate chip pancakes! Saturday night, while the kids and I went birthday shopping, 3 of his best guys friends up here took him out for burgers, hot wings and bowling. They had a ball! Bowling almost did him in, he's had to take ibuprofen for the last few days for his muscle aches. Sunday he was awoken by 2 very excited gift givers ( Amara and Sully ) with gifts hand picked by them. You know you're a great dad when the gifts your given are really for your kids and you couldn't be happier.

Sunday was spent at church and then we had friends over for BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, homemade coleslaw, fries and yummy dessert. All in all it was a great birtday weekend! Today for his actual birthday he slept in, went to work and will come home later to have dinner and a movie with me and the kids. I asked if there was anything he'd rather do and he said he just wants to be with us. And people wonder why I love him.

So here is to the man I love, my best friend, the greatest dad ever! We love you with all our hearts and can't wait to spend many more birthdays with you!

Antagonist with Both Barrels

I now have a toe hold on the long climb to write a graphic novel. Once I found some inspiration for my villan I've been getting flooded with ideas. I've been really starting to get him fleshed out in my head, so I focused this evening on getting something I like down on paper. Here is the result. He has all kinds of juicy details. Anyone curious? What do you all think of him?

Boom

I don't think I will do this very often but I really like this one. I love simplicity, clean lines and message. That seemed to come together here. If you aren't familiar with the subject, well, read any front page of a news paper tomorrow or read some news right now.

Pop! Goes My Heart

A few fridays ago Eric and I went on our date night to see the new Hugh Grant movie Music & Lyrics. So Funny! It really is a great date movie. The video I've posted is the very beginning of the movie. I almost wet myself.

Snow Job - Continued

Just a few more pictures of our snow day. I worked at home today and actually managed to get something done so I wasn't out much at all today. But the kids had a great time.
